_Women Walk For Peace - March 8, 2012
_We all hope for Peace. This Peace Walk for Women was organised to raise awareness of our interconnectedness and interdependence in our hope and work towards the attainment of peace. We invite all women from all walks of life, from different religions and diverse beliefs, from different ethnicities and cultures to join the Walk. Walk to support the protest against violence on women and children. Walk to support protest against wars. Walk to support empowerment of women. We hear statements that the world is becoming increasingly interconnected. Women’s nurturing role is essential for creating and maintaining an environment of peace at home and their extended communities. We need to move forward together to extend our responsibility to one another thus extending our community to create an environment where peace is possible. We hope that this walk will be the start of each woman’s participation, advocacy, immersion and support towards the Culture of Peace.
